To Our Members and Community.
After many, many months of research, analysis and focus on our future, I - along with our Board of Directors and the entire Credit Union Staff - am very proud and excited to announce that as of February 1, 2023, we will be known as:
Changing our name to one that more accurately reflects who we are and what we do positions us for continued success and paves the way for a future as bright as our past. It's not about leaving anyone or anything behind. We will continue to operate under the same guiding principles that have driven us for the past 83 years. We still value members over numbers and people over profit.
In fact, aside from our renewed sense of purpose and an increased focus on helping more people in our community along their journey to financial confidence and security, very little else will change; No real action is needed on your part to continue doing business with us.
As always, we appreciate your continued support and look forward to embarking on this journey together. Please join in our excitement as we move forward as The Credit Union for All!!
Sincerely,
Tom Stewart
President
Q: Has Mid-Illini merged with another credit union? Or has it been sold?
A: Neither! We are still the same member-owned, locally-operated financial cooperative we have always been. This name change was motivated by our commitment to you and to being able to help more people.
Q: I love the staff at Mid-Illini! They're staying put...right?
A: Absolutely! You'll see the same friendly faces you have come to know! The Staff, Leadership and Board of Directors will all still serve you under the new name. (They'll just have new logos on their shirts!)
Q: Is my money safe?
A: 100%! We are a solid financial institution and have been for 83 years. Your funds are protected by the NCUA and are federally insured to $250,000 by the federal government.
Q: When will the name change be official?
A: Our new name takes effect on February 1, 2023. Though there may be some remnants of the Mid-Illini Credit Union name remaining for a period of time, moving forward we are all in with The Credit Union for All!
Q: Will the credit union's commitment to long-time members and the community be the same?
A: Definitely! The name change is not about outgrowing our roots or moving away from the things that are important to our members and employees. It's about inviting more people in on our unique and advantageous way of doing business. While the new name and the new brand were designed to help grow membership, we still very much value those who helped us get to this point. As we grow, we can invest more back into the credit union which helps us offer the lowest interest rates on loans, the highest return on savings and the conveniences and services you deserve. As it has always been and will always be, our focus is on people, not profit; members, not numbers.
Q: Will hours change?
A: No. The new name has no effect on our hours.
Q: What will the new website address be? When will it change?
A: As of February 1, 2023, the new website address is cuforall.com. At the present time, a google search for Mid-Illini or typing midillinicu.com will take you to our new site but it is a good idea to make note of or ‘bookmark’ the new website address.
Q: Will the phone number change? How about email addresses?
A: The phone number will stay the same. The email addresses, however, will change. All @midillinicu.com email addresses will become @cuforall.com. For example,
Q: Do I need to get a new debit card? A new credit card?
A: Not at this time. When your debit or credit card expires or needs to be replaced, you'll be issued a new card branded with the The Credit Union for All logo.
Q: I have two boxes of checks! Can I still use them?
A: Sure. Since our routing number and account numbers will all stay the same, your checks will work fine.
Q: Do I need to re-enter my payees in Bill Pay?
A: No. As with automatic payments and withdrawals, Bill Pay will not require any action on your part.
Q: I have a lot of my bills set up for automatic payment through my checking account. Do I need change my information with my cell phone service provider, utility companies, etc.?
A: No. Since payments are processed using routing and account numbers and those will stay the same, there is no action needed on your part for them to continue.
Q: Will I need to create a new username and password for online banking or the mobile app?
A: No. Our online and mobile account service providers are not changing, neither are your log in info and password. The same goes for PINs.
Q: My paycheck is automatically deposited into my checking account. Do I need to notify my employer of the name change?
A: No. Your ACH deposits will continue to be successfully deposited. As routing and account numbers won't change, there is no need to notify your employer of the name change.
